Learn more about yoga

Yoga is a 5,000 year old practice that has made quite a splash in our current western civilization. This ancient practice is beautiful and honored today.

However, our bodies and lifestyles has evolved. In addition to Heather’s advanced training she worked exclusively with Dr. Phillip O’Brien, DC to offer variations and modifications to benefit the modern body.

Our focus is corrective modifications and techniques that guide you safely into a stronger body. We want you to be the best version of you while honoring the modern body and ancient
practice.

choose your path

Let’s face it, when just starting out, the plethora of choices within the yoga and fitness genre can be over whelming. While there is no “wrong” choice, some classes will resonate with you more than others.

So how do we help our clients?

First, you can schedule a studio tour and we will answer any questions or concerns you may have. Second, you may simply observe a class. You are welcome to observe any class on the schedule and see for yourself if Down Dog is a fit for you. 

Finally, you can take our Exclusive 101course – in this weekly course you will get a feel for what class structure is like and learn basic information and common poses and terms.

Our Instructors provide a healthy mix of challenging cardio, fitness, strength building, yoga, and yoga inspired fitness. We created the schedule and classes to offer you a healthy strong body and mind. We provide all of the tools and classes you need to tone and build the best version of you.

Our goal is to help you choose the classes that will help your growth both personally and professionally. We treat our students with the respect, privacy, and skill you would expect from a healthcare professional.

Remember, there is not a wrong choice to make on your journey… Down Dog Fitness Studio will always be available to answer any questions and provide the encouragement you may need to choose yourself and follow your dreams.

Frequently Asked Questions

We recommend you wear comfortable clothing that won’t restrict your movement, fit well and won’t rise up. T-shirts, tank tops, sports bras exercise pants and shorts are all good choices. We are all about equality here so sorry men shirts are required at all times. If you are taking a yoga class you want to wear clothing that will keep you from exposing your parts in class. For this reason we do not recommend loose, very short, or low cut clothing. Trust me there is nothing worse that realizing you brought plumbers crack into class.

1- Come meet us. We are here to give you a studio tour and answer any questions or concerns you may have.

2- Observe a class. You are welcome to observe any class on the schedule and see for yourself if Down Dog is a fit for you. We do require advance notice to accommodate our class maximum size, and you must register at the desk and have photo ID.

3- Take our Exclusive 101- in this weekly course you will get a feel for what class at our studio will be like and learn basic information and common poses and terms.

We offer modifications routinely and frequently in every class. These modifications enable you to participate comfortably. With consistent practice you will be amazed at the strength and flexibility you will gain.

We offer senior (65 and older), military, first responders and healthcare employees a 10% credit on classes and memberships. If you qualify please show your current ID for a credit to reflect your special pricing.
